Herbert Baglione

Herbert Baglione is originally a street artist from Sao Paulo, Brazil and has got to be one of my all time favorite artists. His use of line, shape, and flat color (usually black, grey, and white) is amazing. His blog has recently updated with images from Santander Cultural - Porto Alegre TRANSFER (which I can't seem to find any information on).

According to his blog:
"Hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, acclaimed fine artist Baglione is highly respected and recognized within the industry as well as throughout South America and Europe. He is known for his strong minimalist and simplistic approach to painting. According to Baglione, the basis of his work is addressing the coldness and competitiveness present in people. He likes to be ironic about things such as individuality and death, and the paths chosen to either achieve these experiences or distance oneself from it."

He also posted about an Upper Playground and Adidas shoe collaboration that will be released on the 17th of this month. His minimal design displays his personal taste in shoes ("I don't like colorful tennis shoes that are full of designs or anything that I feel is more than necessary. I believe being simple ends up being more challenging,"). You can pick up the shoe at UP on thursday, or order them online starting at 8am on the same day.

It's a simple and minimal shoe. I'm not sure if I'd wear it (though I'd probably love to just look at it) but it's an interesting collaboration nonetheless.
